Currently underway south of the renowned Tara Iti, two new courses are emerging from the dunescape, Te Arai Links.
We are delighted to be involved with this stunning project from its inception, our buildings at Te Arai Links represent the design thinking of our practice which is a desire to simplify and to belong in its place.

The buildings are intended to merge into the landscape, the colour palette is one of weathered driftwood, sand and native vegetation, the forms are deliberately simple and humble.
The intention is that when you arrive at Te Arai Links the Architecture will do its small part in providing the backdrop to one of the most beautiful and natural golfing environments that New Zealand and indeed the world has to offer.

This is a very fun building, a NZ haybarn meets a bar meets a golfer’s dream. Situated on a huge putting green, dubbed the playground, it is an easy and welcoming place where you can have a few beers and woodfired pizzas as well as a place to finally put to rest who is the best putter.

This is the meeting and greeting point for all visitors to the courses, The clubhouse is a welcoming form with new guests guided into a large sheltered portico, as well as the greeting area the Clubhouse contains the proshop and generous changing facilities. The form is a simply detailed gable with deep covered eaves, the arrival area cuts through the gable with easy access to the practice fairway behind.

This little gem of a space is tucked away, there’s nothing showy here, you descend inside a dune down a set of stairs to a lounge and bar where the bartender already knows what you will be having. Although hidden it has the most spectacular views. It is intended as a haven for members, an intimate laughter-filled place designed for you and friends to unwind while looking over the ocean and the 18th fairway. It will be difficult to leave.

The Suites
Located just a short walk from the South Clubhouse, Pizza Barn and practice facilities, the Suites are situated in the heart of the property. Each building offers lovely views of the South Course and to the Pacific Ocean beyond.

The Cottages
Facing North East to perfectly capture the views and light, these buildings are modelled on the much loved Member Cottages of Tara Iti Golf Club. These two bedroom Ocean Cottages on the edge of the golf course are spacious and beautifully appointed. The cottages nestle into the landscape and have jaw dropping views of golf and the Pacific Ocean.
Calming spaces to relax after a round of golf and just a short distance from the hospitality offerings Te Arai Links provides.
